Daniel enjoyed a very impressive amateur career and was the #1 ranked golfer in Portugal. He won the Portuguese Amateur title, having previously been crowned the Under-18 and Under-16 Champion too. He enrolled at Texas A&M University in 2020 and was a standout player for the Aggies, winning The Blessings Intercollegiate in his Junior year, as well as being named SEC Freshman of the Year in 2021 and earning PING Division I All-American Team honours in both 2023 and 2024.

Daniel turned pro in 2024 and will split his time competing on the respective tours in both Europe and in the United States.
