The Clutch Tour in partnership with Modest! Golf Management are delighted to announce ‘the Open Access Masters’, an exciting new tournament set for Sunningdale Heath Golf Club in July. The innovative 18-hole tournament aims to unite the stars of the European and Ladies European Tours in a split field event boasting equal prize money.

The Open Access Masters has already attracted a stellar field with four-time Major winner Laura Davies, LET star Meghan MacLaren, the European Tour’s Connor Syme and former Tour winner, Steven Brown all set to compete.

The field will also feature disability golfers including Ireland’s Brendan Lawlor who sits inside the top-5 on the world’s disability rankings.

The event hopes to showcase the inclusivity of the sport, offering equal opportunity to both men and women in a celebration of golf played on a unique 3,700 yard course that will allow the skill aspect of the game to really shine through.

“We are delighted to work with the Clutch Tour team who are putting so much effort into delivering this new event,” said Modest! Golf owner, Niall Horan.

“Our aim is to showcase that golf is for everyone and we wanted to bring together the male and female golfers to celebrate that. We’re really excited about how the field is shaping up and look forward to witnessing 18-holes of really exciting golf.”

Just like Modest! Golf, the Clutch Pro Tour has established a reputation for its focus on developing talent and providing a platform for it to flourish and the founder of the Tour, Tom Hayward is delighted to present another opportunity for some of the game’s brightest prospects and seasoned stars.

“Our aim with the Clutch Tour alongside Modest! Golf is to really try and increase playing opportunities, especially for the ladies and this is just another step towards that goal,” said Hayward.

“There is a real demand for high quality tournaments, particularly given how playing schedules have been affected around Europe this year so we’re excited to announce the Open Access Masters and to build on our extensive fixture list for the rest of 2020.”

In Sunningdale Heath, the tournament has the backing of a host venue that has begun a new era in its long and distinguished existence. Its highly decorated PGA professionals, Kristian Baker and Tom Reid are thrilled to welcome some of Europe’s top golfing talent to their fairways and the setting is sure to provide a sterling test to all those taking part.

In accordance with social distancing requirements, the Open Access Masters will be played behind closed doors and will adhere to the strictest health and safety guidelines.
