Modest! Golf offer Invites to Local Amateurs
Modest! Golf Management are delighted to announce that local amateurs John Ross Galbraith and Jordan Hood will be invited to participate in this year’s Northern Ireland Open at Galgorm Castle Golf Club.
Local favourite and Irish International John Ross Galbraith, former Ulster Boys champion has enjoyed another solid season with some great finishes including a fantastic second place finish at the Lytham Trophy in May.
Jordan is member of the Ireland Senior Panel and an Ulster Senior player. He is Galgorm Castle’s lowest handicap player (+3) and is currently a golf scholar at the University of Maynooth as part of the Paddy Harrington Golf Scholarship programme. Jordan was the Ireland Boys Champion in 2011 and last year he won the Ulster Youths Championship by six shots.
Both John Ross and Jordan join the winner of the Northern Ireland Amateur Qualifier Colin Fairweather who won a three man play off to earn his spot in the main event in August. Colin birdied the first extra hole at Galgorm Castle to beat Thomas Mulligan and former winner Tiarnan McLarnon.
Although Mulligan lost out in the play off, the 17-year-old still secured the second NI Open place up for grabs courtesy of Modest! Golf’s invite for the leading U18 player.
Modest! Golf look forward to welcoming these four amateurs to the 2018 Northern Ireland Open.
