The multi-year agreement will see Marcus play a full bag of TaylorMade equipment and golf ball as he enters the next stage of his career on the DP World Tour. Marcus is currently playing this week in the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship and opened his DP World Tour account with a solid first round of 69.
“It’s such a proud day to sign with TaylorMade Golf, they are known for signing the best players in the world and producing the most innovative and fantastic equipment. As an amateur Marcus won the 2015 Turkish Amateur Open Championship and represented Denmark at the 2016 Eisenhower Trophy and 2017 European Amateur Team Championship.
A three-time winner on the Nordic Golf League, Marcus returned to the Challenge Tour for 2021 where he finished the season number one, topping the Road to Mallorca Rankings after a late charge in the final few months of the season saw him claim three victories.
His first win came at the Vierumäki Finish Challenge in August, followed by victory at the Swiss Challenge in October. Marcus then went on to card rounds of 69-67-68-72 to win the season-ending Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final supported by The R&A, which saw him become the third player from Denmark to top the season-long standings. 2022 will be his rookie year on the DP World Tour.
“I have known Marcus and been supporting him for around six years now, so from a personal standpoint I am thrilled to see the success he has had this past 12 months particularly and have him join Team TaylorMade on the big stage. He is a very driven and dedicated character, and although early in his professional career he has experienced the highs and lows of professional golf which, knowing Marcus, have only motivated him to become the best player he can possibly be. Following a couple of testing sessions he has seamlessly transitioned into a full bag of TaylorMade products and we as a team are excited to support him for this next chapter of his career and beyond”
