ISPS HANDA has confirmed exciting news that world number 8 ranked golfer, Tyrrell Hatton has become the company’s latest Ambassador ahead of a huge year for the sport.

The Englishman, who has won four Rolex Series titles on the European Tour as well as the Arnold Palmer Invitational on the PGA Tour, will represent ISPS HANDA on golf’s biggest stages this year, beginning with this week’s 85th edition of the Masters.

“We are delighted to announce Tyrrell Hatton as ISPS HANDA’s newest Ambassador,” said ISPS HANDA Founder, Dr. Haruhisa Handa. “As one of the leading golfers in the world, he will be an invaluable addition to our current stable of ambassadors, helping to share ISPS HANDA’s belief in the Power of Sport and helping to promote golf as an accessible sport for all.

“We wish Tyrrell the very best of luck this week in the Masters and we hope to welcome him to our home country of Japan for the Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games.”

29-year old Hatton has been a revelation since joining Modest! Golf in 2019, letting his performances do the talking as he broke into the world’s top-5 for the first time in his career with victory at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship in January.

With four Majors, the Ryder Cup and an Olympics all in store for what is a bumper year for golf in 2021, Hatton, whose name is sure to feature prominently on leaderboards across the world this season, is excited to be able to use his platform to help highlight Dr. Handa’s mission to use sport to achieve positive outcomes in the world and to make golf accessible to all.

“I am delighted to join ISPS HANDA as a global Ambassador,” said Hatton. “ISPS HANDA’s growing influence on the game of golf can only be a good thing and it’s something I’ve always admired from afar.

“The work Dr. Handa is doing is work we should all be able to get behind. Using sport to break down barriers gives everybody a chance to appreciate a game that means an awful lot to me, and to many. It truly is inspiring and it’s something that I am very proud to represent.”

ISPS HANDA was founded by Dr. Handa in 2006, using sport’s unique ability to bring communities together, regardless of background, and use its power to create hope. ISPS HANDA funds and promotes sporting events in archery, bowling, boxing, football, golf, polo, rowing, rugby and swimming, with an emphasis on blind and disabled golf.

The ISPS HANDA World Invitational, presented by Modest! Golf, a unique event promoting equal prize money for men and women, and tri-sanctioned by the European Tour, the Ladies European Tour and the LPGA Tour, returns this summer to Northern Ireland from July 28 – August 1.
