Brendan Lawlor

Country: Ireland
DOB: 13-03-1997

The Number 2 Disability Golfer in the World. The ultra-talented Irishman has been making his mark around the world for several years with high-profile wins on the EDGA Tour while showcasing disability golf to a wider audience. The proud Dundalk man has played his whole life with Ellis-Van Creveld Syndrome, a bone growth disorder that leads to shorter limbs but that didn’t stop him collecting victories at the 2021 Cazoo Disability Open, 2021 ISPS HANDA World Disability Invitational, 2019 German Disabled Open, the 2019 G-Golf Knockout and the 2019 EDGA Scottish Open.

Brendan became the first disability golfer to compete in a European Challenge Tour event, the ISPS Handa World Invitational at Galgorm Spa & Golf Resort in 2019, pushing this on further to host his first tournament at the 2021 ISPS HANDA World Disability Invitational. Although he strives each day to move back to world number one, his dreams extend to the bigger picture also.

He hopes to play a major part in the European Tour’s plans to have a full European Disability Tour while his continued quest to secure golf’s place in the Paralympics remains another source of intense motivation for this larger-than-life character. Brendan is also a proud ambassador for ISPS Handa and promotes their commitment to inspire through the power of sport and make sport inclusive for all. In addition in 2022 Brendan was invited to work alongside the DP World commentary team travelling across Europe commentating live on Sky Sports Golf.
